Our installations are built to last because we focus on the foundation first. Every project begins with a properly compacted ¾-inch minus rock base—not sand or mixed-size aggregates—which prevents shifting, erosion, and sinking over time. We combine that with ASTM C144 joint sand and premium aliphatic polyurethane sealers to ensure strength, drainage, and long-term beauty.
The base supports the entire paver system. Using the wrong base material, like sand or mixed aggregate, leads to uneven compaction and water erosion. Over time, this causes pavers to move, sink, or crack. Our uniform rock base allows water to drain correctly while maintaining structural integrity under Florida’s harsh weather and heavy loads.
ASTM C144 joint sand has a consistent grain size designed specifically for paver joints. It interlocks tightly to prevent shifting and erosion, unlike regular play sand, which washes away easily. This sand also enhances the load-bearing capacity of your surface and helps lock in stability for the long term.

We had Nick and starshine rip out an old concrete driveway and install a new and wider paver driveway. We had a few scheduling requests that Nick worked around and we also basically gave him and his crew a blank slate to work with as far as color matching the home and even adding in some radius’s that weren’t previously there and he also suggested going from driveway to front entrance and I must say we are extremely pleased with the outcome as everything was on time and on budget. He was very easy to work with and communication was also awesome as we were on vacation while the project was completed and he kept us up to date with progress and pictures the whole time. Would highly recommend Nick and starshine for anyone looking for a new and improved look for your home.
They were on time with correct materials and did a great job of cleaning and resealing pavers on our drive way, stoop and patio. Built a new walkway to dock that is absolutely a professional job. They ran short of time to lay sod, but Nick came back the next day in the late afternoon to finish the job. My wife and I have nothing but praises for Starshine, Nick and his crew. Thank you Nick!
